And why not? Since we are moving Pete anyway, and will incur the costs of doing this, why not invite some friends and fans to join us. The wonderful people at Napa have agreed to host us at their Tire Center at Zeelandia. I chose this location because it is easily accessible for everybody, has lots of parking area, and it doesn't restrict the flow of traffic on the Schottegatweg. Also, this location has spotlights, air compressors, etc, making it quite easy for us.
So, if you are in the area and are a fan of drag racing or are a motorsports enthusiast, you are welcome to drop by.
Date: Friday, January 17, 2014
Time: 20:00 - 22:00
Place: Napa Tire Center, Zeelandia
Note: drinks are on me, though op = op.
Happy Hour recap:
"That sounds sweet. Did you add more power"?.. was one of the remarks I got after we fired up Pete's engine. This was the first time we did so after we got it back from Jon Kaase's. The crowd was wonderful and most stayed well after the party was supposed to end. We had a sizable group of first timers who found the night very exciting. They'd come to our fundraisers but never got the chance to see the car before. Great fun. Really!
Happy Hour Photo Gallery:
Finally got the chance to upload some pictures from the Happy Hour, courtesy of Priscilla. I'd like to thank the folks at NAPA Tire Center for allowing us to use their premises. A word of gratitude also goes out to Ramcy Pinedo, from R & J Towing, for hauling the Cobalt back and forth.
Our next outing is in two weeks when we're scheduled to hit the track for a private test session. Those interested to attend are kindly requested to get in touch with me.
Happy Hour video:
A while ago we received this footage from Mr. Urven Broos, who was one of those who recorded our Happy Hour last Friday.
The video below is of the final start up of the night. Unfortunately, the sound in the video doesn't do it much justice, so you will have to come see us at the Curacao International Raceway. There is also a special appearance toward the end of the clip. It is of the past local pro stock champion and my brother, Dito, closing of the night in style... as only he knows how to!
I'd like to thank everyone who came out last night. You made it a memorable one.
The 2014 drag racing season has officially begun! Thanks for reading.
