H-D Braggin' Rights fundraiser

Since our crew has taken to riding Harley-Davidsons last year, I have owed them an event for a while now. Mind you that I am not a H-D rider myself... at least not yet...but I think I've come up with a pretty cool event that will be held as a fundraiser benefiting the team.

At this time, there is not much more I can say other than the price of admission includes premium open bar (riders please drink responsibly), snacks, and memento. Tickets will go on sale in the first week of March and can be bought through your local H-D club, Eric Felix, Stephen Maduro, Priscilla Lotman, and yours truly.

Harley-Davidson rider - Fls. 75,00
Harley-Davidson passenger - Fls. 25,00
All others (spectators) - Fls. 50,00

Update:
As we announced in early February, this Saturday we are holding our first Annual Harley-Davidson Braggin' Rights fundraiser.

In order to insure fairness and not give a rider an unfair advantage over the others, we will keep the activity to ourselves until the very last moment. Having said that, if there is a participating rider that does not want to partake in this activity I will personally give him/her a refund. And although I am not a H-D rider myself, I am quite confident that everyone will have a jolly good time and that the riders will get a lot of bang for their buck!

Tickets to this fundraiser can be bought through your local H-D club. If not, please get in touch with Eric Felix, Stephen Maduro, Priscilla Lotman, or yours truly at +599 9 511-5615.

March 22, 2014 / 08.00 - 11.00 pm / Napa Tire Center Zeelandia.
Harley-Davidson rider - Fls. 75,00
Harley-Davidson passenger - Fls. 25,00
All others (spectators) - Fls. 50,00

As with any type of competition, the rider will want to have his or her supporters to cheer him on, so best to motivate your friends and families to join you for this one. Tickets for spectators are just Fls. 50,00 and include premium F&B.

Thanks for reading and see you this Saturday at eight o'clock.

Event Recap:
Boy did we have fun Saturday night. The Harley-Davidson Braggin' Rights fundraiser was enjoyed by all of those who signed on, about three dozen or so. The rest of the riders understandably opted to wait and see, since the actual activity was not divulged until everyone was present at the meeting point, the Napa Tire Center Zeelandia.

Around nine o'clock the riders and passengers mounted their H-D's and made their way to the Curacao International Raceway, where Don Silvio had turned night into day with artificial lighting. Unfortunately, he could not get the christmas tree to function properly. Even so, once the riders got to the starting line area one could feel the energy rising. Some gave it a go right away, others ordered some drinks at the bar while their wives and girlfriends chatted away in the seating area.

I think it is fair to say that most had more fun than they had expected. Once the adrenaline started to flow there would be no turning back. Ben Vorst seemed to have the quickest Harley, but then our team mate Stephen Maduro gave him his first defeat. Ben claimed that had the christmas tree been working, Stephen would have red lighted. Yeah, dropping ones arms (like pinks-all-out) is not the best way to go but we all had fun nevertheless.

At the end of the night, most of the Wild Hogs riders asked that we do it again but then tell everyone about it. Will do, gents. Will do!

Thank you all for coming. Soon I will upload the video of the winner of the first annual Harley-Davidson Braggin' Rights.

Event video:
If you had participated in our little fundraiser of March 22 last, you'd remember that due to the christmas tree not functioning properly, our photographer Mr. Urvin Broos (FAC race starter) put down his cam-corder in order to trouble shoot. Unfortunately, this left us with very little footage. In the end I started shooting some in order to be able to make this video for you.

I would like to congratulate Mr. Juan Figeira-da Silva on winning our very first H-D Braggin' Rights  event. Even though he had a slower Harley, his determination paid off in the end when he cut a better light ….. errrrr, arm, than Ben Vorst!
