Test session rules and conditions

Last update: May 28, 2012.

Stg. Danny de Kort Motorsports, in an effort to promote the sport of drag racing, may allow some drivers to test their cars as well, when it rents the track at Curacao Int'l Raceway for the purpose of testing.
Only drivers with valid driving credentials wanting to enter cars that have passed the track's race inspection (must be recent) need apply.
SDDKM is a foundation that does not seek to make profit. The entry fees for test sessions may be subsidized by this foundation.

DISCLAIMER:
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of testing and of possible personal challenge events and to establish minimum acceptable standards for such events.
These rules will govern the conditions of all events by Stg. Danny de Kort Motorsports, hereafter referred as SDDKM, including those mentioned above, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.
For completeness sake, no expressed or implied warrant of safety will result from publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport of drag racing and are in no way a guarantee against injure or death to a participant, spectator or official.

GENERAL RULE:
SDDKM holds the right to change a rule if the track manager (FAC) deems the situation warrants such action. Vehicles participating in testing events will be presentable at all times. SDDKM may reject vehicles that are improperly prepared.
Any rider/driver, crew member, or person in association with a rider/driver or a crew member who is considered to be under the influence of any drug, alcohol, or any other judgement impairing substance will be expelled from the race and escorted of the premise together with the entire crew and vehicle associated with the offender.
Alcoholic beverages  of any kind are prohibited from being consumed by any racer or crew member prior to the completion of their racing for the day.
Speed limit in the pit area, return road, and other areas is 10 mph and no burn-outs or transbrake tests are allowed anywhere except the burnout box. Violators endangering others with reckless and inconsiderate drive habits (whether it is in/or a race vehicle) will be expelled from the race facility with the entire crew and race vehicle, without return of their subscription/entry fees or any other for that matter.
Upon entering the test session, drivers agree to abide by the previous mentioned rules and that all interpretation of rules, questions and protests are left up to the representative of SDDKM.
Participants are liable for any damage to the track and/or track facilities (such as timing lights) and/or other participant's property (such as race car). SDDKM, FAC, or any other organization deemed appropriate by SDDKM, will work together to resolve the event or accident, and any costs involved shall be for the account of the participant who caused it, regardless of whether it was he/she or a team member or any person invited by that participant.

Burnout:
Only Pro class is permitted to burn past starting line.
Vehicles without front brakes will be allowed to burn-out past the starting line, regardless of class.
All other forms of burnout are prohibited.

Notifications:
The test events will operate under the first or worst rule. Should a driver cross the lane boundary line, he should personally inform the SDDKM representative. Same goes for any contact with the guardrail, barriers, or any other track fixture. Should you suspect an engine malfunction, such as an oildown, to avoid depositing debris on the track move as quickly as possible outside of the racing groove, and if possible onto the lane that is not being used for testing. Inform the rep right away. There is a financial cost associated with an oildown, so try to prevent at all cost

Oildown:
There will be a financial penalty for oildowns. Why you may ask? Simply put, by allowing an oildown SDDKM may be forced to use more traction compound and other attributes to make the racing surface like it was before the oildown. Also, FAC may charge us for the clean up costs. The oildown cleanup effort, besides costing us money, also cuts down the time allocated for testing. Should the testing need to continue at night, there will be additional costs of running the electricity generator for the track lights. These costs are not calculated into the subscription fees for a day time test session. It is at the discretion of SDDKM whether it is feasible to continue after an oildown, meaning that the test session may be halted. This may still result in a financial penalty for the offender. Oildown penalty: NAf 500,= or a portion hereof.

Driver requirements:
As part of the FAC set of rules, all drivers must have a valid government issued driver's license. In addition to a valid driver's license, some classes require that you have a valid NHRA/IHRA driver's license as well. The SDDKM rep reserves the right to request to view your driving credentials at any time during the race.

Golf-carts, ATV's, Motor Scooters, and tow vehicles:
Under no circumstance will anyone under the age of 16 be allowed to operate any of the above. This is for their own safety. Any child under the age of 16 must remain in the tow vehicle in the staging lanes or return road, and may not be on the track or around the burnout box during a test session.

Participants conduct:
These rules apply to all drivers/racers, pit crew and spectators alike. Please conduct yourself in a professional manner. There will be NO ALCOHOL allowed in the burnout box or the track. Absolutely NO GLASS BOTTLES allowed on the facility. No firearms or weapons are allowed on the   property.

Rainout policy: see refund policy.

Refund Policy:
There are no refunds, only if granted by FAC, which will be allocated at the discretion of SDDKM, and then on a strict pro rata basis.

Cars on the track:
Only cars entered by a participant into the test session and accepted by SDDKM, are allowed onto the track. After the test sessions have been concluded, other cars and with approval of SDDKM may be allowed onto the track.

Test session cancelation:
SDDKM reserves the right to cancel the test session, and depending on the reasons for the former, may or may not reschedule it.
