Walk for Frank

On Sunday June 10, 2012, the Ronald Mc Donald House Charities Curacao Foundation will hold the Walk for Frank fundraising event.

Who is Frank?
Last year Frank had an unfortunate but devastating accident while jumping off a pier into the ocean. He hit his head against a rock, broke his neck and consequently ended up in a paralyzed state from the neck down, with minimal movement in his upper body.
The medical team and physical therapist dedicated to his recovery urgently need the support of an electrical wheelchair to further improve his limited recovery. The price of this wheelchair is Fls. 53.000,= It is custom made and can be operated with head movements, but is not covered by his health insurance.

Walk for Frank!
The Ronald Mc Donald House Charities Curacao Foundation will dedicate its first walk event to Frank's cause. The goal is to raise enough funds to purchase this wheelchair for Frank, giving him the ability to return back to society as a functioning member. The walk for Frank will be held on June 10, 2012, and will start from the Banco di Caribe parking lot, located at Schottegatweg Oost, to Zanzibar, at Jan Thiel.

Register for the walk:
The foundation is aiming for 3.000 participants. Participation costs Fls 10,= per person, for which you get a special T-shirt, water an other refreshments handed out along the route.

The Walk for Frank was a great success with a large crowd turning up for the walk.
In financial terms, the fundraising surpassed even the organizer's expectations. Great stuff!
